Anyone know of any good free desktop daily planners? I've looked around a bit and they've all been kinda crappy. I need to start having deadlines and things to do right in front of my face or else I keep forgetting. Something that shows a calendar and lets you type stuff into the dates.

That would be awesome.

Today's strip (this one's for you Khahy) :

Tak, thought of an idea for the BoyGenius Tom & Flygirl M strips. Have you considered Lulu?

I love this strip sooo much . . . because it totally mirrored the story of my life at the time. Bizarre.

ok you got a few nice options. first you can just use google calendar, its nice, but you gotta load it in your web browser everytime.

or you can download a desktop buddy:
http://widgets.yahoo.com/
That used to be a really popular one called konfabulator, but they got bought out by yahoo.

it comes with a default planner/calendar system thats pretty nice. but if thats not working for you, you can interface the yahoo widget engine with google calendar.

You just download this extension to the yahoo program and you can access your google calendar from your desktop. which is pretty neat.

tak,

check out www.versiontracker.com and search for 'calendar planner' under Windows and you should have a list of free programs that you can use.

keith - thanks for the link. Unfortunately, this stuff is way too embarassing for me to print in a proper book. I'm seriously considering having it in my sketchbook though ;)

khahy - mirroring your life? If you have the mind reader 5000 I need to borrow it...

Reemo and alex - thanks for those links. I'll try the google one and see how it goes. If it doesn't work out I'll try your's Alex.

alfredo - there are a few more. I'm missing a few though so the story will be a bit choppy

google calendar is nice, it just doesnt stay on your desktop. I think the best thing would to try out the yahoo widgets engine, cause the default planner is quite nice. or you could interface it with google calendar and then you can update your calendar from anywhere with internet access.

widget engine also has a lot of nice other add ons that make your desktop pretty informative.

rylan - if that's your real name it rocks. I may have to steal it for a future comic.
