Sorry for the absence lately. Been busy taking care of a bunch of things and planning for an incoming family visit. I owe some people e-mails from the past month which I'll get to soon and I'm deligently working away on the commissions, too. Oh, I've decided to draw them on letter sized comic board instead of the Japanese shikishi since I was having difficulties drawing on what felt like cardboard.

My main focus has been my visa situation and it looks like I will infact have to give up my part of the Miyazawa family registery in order to switch to an extended visa. It's all been very vague and hard to navigate but I'm getting a bunch of paperwork together for a meeting with judicial affairs next week. I have this sinking feeling that if I didn't apply for a visa in the first place I coulda flown under the radar as a Japanese national and as a Canadian but I'd rather ink things in blacks and whites so that I don't screw myself later. That was a deliberate comic reference, btw... It's been a bit of a downer knowing I will have to de-register but it's all for a greater good I suppose. Gotta break some eggs.

I've been catching up on some TV as well. I'm up-to-date with Heroes and Prison Break as well as enjoying some new shows like Gordon Ramsay's US version of Kitchen Nightmare's. First of all, I can't believe they killed off Sara!! WTF!! I'm still in denial. I'm hoping it's all some big hoax and that it was someone else's head in that box. I mean, it was all handled in such haste it's really hard to believe. Otherwise, the back in prison and puzzle solving elements are feeling a bit tiresome and forced but I'm going along with it. Heroes has reset and is giving up it's secrets again slowly which I appreciate. There is consistently a good amount of story in each episode and lots of cool twists. Some of the spoken Japanese was pretty brutal though... Like, Ando's boss?? Anyway, Gordaon Ramsay rules. I miss the Food Network.

I haven't checked out the US Kitchen Nightmares yet, but the regular version is pretty great. I love food network. Food is good.

Hey Tak!

Been a while. Hope things are going well for you so far. I hear ya regarding the family registery...I'm still registered under the Chung family registery in Korea and it's cool to have that connection but unfortunately, I don't see myself dragging my wife and kids to Korea anytime soon to work. As for Heroes it's gettin' better and better as the stories progress...how the heck did Sylar end up in Mexico? Still looking forward to seeing LOST again...even though we have to wait til Feb!

adc - they've made a few changes like having a different voice-over guy instead of Ramsay himself and not following up with the "month later" segment. Both which weakened the show in my opinion but it's still very watchable and entertaining. I can't believe how clueless some of these profiled restauranteurs are! Seriously!

ming - Yeah, they killed off the doctor. Like, the only chick in the show! That takes balls... No pun intended. Anyway, the story is starting off a bit wack this season but I'm still invested in the characters enough to keep watching.

alex - did you ever complete your military duty? I hear it's 2 years but you can do a crash course in the summer. I ironed out my visa situation which I'll touch upon at a later date. Yeah. LOST!!

I knew there was a US Hell's Kitchen, but I didn't know there was a US Kitchen Nightmares too. Ramsay must be raking in the cash!
